Brooklyn-based photographer Juan Cuartas Rueda was born and raised in Colombia. From an early age, he developed a deep appreciation for the power of storytelling through imagery. At 28, Juan moved to New York City to immerse himself in the creative culture of the city. This experience refined his aesthetic and laid the groundwork for his career.
Inspired by iconic photographers such as Peter Lindbergh, Richard Avedon, and Paolo Roversi, as well as visionary designers like Daniel Roseberry, Alessandro Michele, and John Galliano, Juan’s work blends classic and contemporary influences. His photography is defined by a timeless yet modern aesthetic, exploring narratives through digital, film, and black-and-white.
Since relocating to New York, Juan has collaborated with leading modeling agencies including The Society, Elite Models, The Industry, Ford Models, Wilhelmina, New York Models, and more, crafting compelling visuals that capture the essence of his subjects.
